Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, May 27, 2022 – After several months of work in the field and several discussions with the Ministry of Executive Council (MCE), IHR Telecom confirms the addresses that will be served as part of the Éclair II project in the Haut-Richelieu and Brome-Missisquoi MRCs.

Approximately 900 households will have access to high-speed Internet through IHR Telecom’s fiber optic network through this subsidy program. The general manager of IHR Telecom, Benoit Lanciault, does not hide his enthusiasm for this good news: “We are very happy to be able to officially announce to the citizens who are on the deployment plan of the Éclair II project that our services will be available to their homes shortly “.

One page…In deployment

To allow future subscribers to follow the deployment of the current network in their municipality, IHR Telecom is launching a new page on their website, which brings together the details of the projects currently being deployed. Citizens will therefore be able to consult the deployment schedules by region, as well as the plan of the fiber optic projects in progress. As of now, residents of Haut-Richelieu and Brome-Missisquoi are invited to consult the currently deploying web page to check if their address is on the deployment plan of a project with IHR Telecom.

An evolving deployment blueprint

IHR Telecom confirms the addresses on the blueprints today, but there is still room for more households in the following months. Here is what the marketing coordinator had to say about that: ” We regularly receive information about new addresses that are being built. When it is possible to had them to the ongoing project, we are glad to do!”

Éclair II Project

Announced last July by the Government of Canada and Quebec, the Éclair II component of the Canada-Quebec High Speed Operation aims to serve households that do not have access to high-speed Internet. During this announcement, IHR Telecom received the mandate to bring the High Speed Internet service to the households in this situation in the MRCs of Haut-Richelieu and Brome-Missisquoi that are not part of another provider’s project.
