Change of brand identity
Published on : 7 May 2025
We are delighted to announce that IHR Télécom is changing its name as of May 20, 2025.
This change marks an important milestone in our evolution. It reflects not only the expansion of our service offering, but also our renewed commitment to supporting you with even greater efficiency, proximity and innovation.
Has iHR Télécom been bought?
Why is the company changing its name?
No, IHR Télécom has not been bought.
The change of identity stems from our company’s new strategic direction, which is to become a key player in economic development and digital transformation in the communities we serve.
Our company maintains its status and mission as a non-profit organization and is more committed than ever to offering and developing fiber optic products and services that are:
- At the cutting edge of technology;
- Relevant and adapted to the realities of rural communities;
- Aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens and the performance of businesses in these communities.
Why is the company repositioning itself in the market?
What does it offer that is different from before?
- A high-performance fiber optic network:
Over the past 2 years, our company has invested heavily in expanding and improving its fiber optic network. Since 2025, our infrastructure has been much more robust, reliable and fast than before.
As a result, our company can now offer its customers the latest generation of connectivity services, ensuring faster connections, greater stability and an uninterrupted online experience. Setting up a new governance structure: - The new brand identity also reflects a new governance structure:
- Executive Committee: composed of seasoned professionals in their respective fields.
- New Board of Directors: composed of businessmen and businesswomen committed to the economic development of the Haut-Richelieu and Brome-Missisquoi regions.
This change in strategic leadership marks a turning point for the company, which aims to strengthen its position and pursue ambitious initiatives for local regions.
What new services will the new brand be offering?
In addition to continuing to offer Internet, television and IP telephony services to residents and businesses in the Haut-Richelieu and Brome-Missisquoi regions, we are expanding our activities by becoming actively involved in digital transformation projects aimed at improving the quality of life of residents and the performance of businesses.
These digital transformation projects will enable us to offer our customers innovative technological solutions in key sectors such as:
- Home healthcare: digital solutions for monitoring the vital signs of patients and the elderly at home.
- Agriculture: offering digital solutions to optimize farm management, improve yields and facilitate resource management.
- Agritourism and tourism: offering digital solutions to connect players in the sector, enhance the visitor experience and facilitate the management of local infrastructures.
- Companies of all sizes: digital solutions to optimize their processes, manage their logistics and develop new business opportunities.
Does this change of brand identity have an impact on the services I subscribe to?
Thanks to the significant sums invested in the fiber optic network infrastructure over the last 2 years, our company can now offer you high-performance connectivity services. This translates into:
- A better Internet experience:
- Faster connections, greater stability and an uninterrupted online experience;
- Symmetrical download and upload power (in other words, if you subscribe to the Fiber 700 Mbps plan, you will get 700 Mbps for downloading and 700 Mbps for uploading).
– Unlike many telecommunications companies, which offer much lower upload speeds.
- More powerful Internet plans at lower prices:
- Introduction of Fibre 700 Mbps and Fibre Giga plan for residents and businesses.
- A state-of-the-art television platform (the most advanced in North America):
- Advanced features such as 36-hour rewind, viewing on smart devices, voice-activated remote control, program restart, video on demand and out-of-home viewing.
Will this change of identity have an impact on Internet plan prices?
- As with most companies, the rate of inflation, as well as the rising cost of materials and equipment, led to an increase in our rates in 2025. Plan prices have therefore been increased by $4.95, with the exception of the basic plan, which remains at $49.95. It is important to note that this rate increase is not related to IHR Télécom’s change of identity, but rather to the reality of the financial market.
- That said, in order to continue to offer our customers excellent value for money and to meet their growing demand for Internet power, IHR Télécom has decided to offset the price increase by offering our customers more speed for the new price.
- For example: Our customers who subscribe to the Fiber 500 Mbps plan will see their invoice increase from $65 to $69.95 in July 2025, but will be automatically transferred to the new Fiber 700 Mbps
What changes can I expect as an existing customer when IHR Telecom change it’s name?
Is there anything I need to do to prepare?
- The main change to be expected is in terms of communications. Following the launch of the new brand, the communications you will receive from our company will be in the name and colours of the new name. These communications include:
- a) postal letters
- b) invoicing
- c) newsletters
- d) information emails
- e) promotions and special offers and all other customer communications.
- We also suggest that you check your junk mail for the first few months to ensure that there are no communications from the new brand. If there is, we recommend that you forward the e-mail to your inbox and add the e-mail address to your address book.
