Développement Innovations Haut-Richelieu (IHR) is a non-profit organization introducing high speed internet, high definition television and unlimited telephony with the use of optical fibre to remote locations.

Is IHR available in my area?

IHR is already available with it’s wireless technologies in most areas of le Haut-Richelieu and it’s nearby cities. The optical fibre network is expanding as well.

What are the payment options?

There are 2 ways to make your pre autorized montly payment: with a credit card or with bank transfer.
You must can register a credit card in the customer center, or by calling one of our agents. With the card registered in your account, the payments will be made automatically as long as your credit card is valid and that you are a customer with us. You can make bank payment when you submit us a void check. Payments are taken on fixed dates. It is not possible to pay with cash money

How can I change my password?

Connect to the customer center at the following link : clients.ihrtelecom.com. Click on “account info” and you will find a form to change your password. For security reasons, you should change your password when you open your account for the first time. A strong password of at least 8 caracters is recommended.

What is the difference between the optical fibre and my wireless service?

The optical fibre give an almost infinite capacity and is not split in any way to multiple persons (unlike the radio waves). The connection is dedicated to your home. It is way faster this way, and it shows with a greater download and upload speed. Even more, the optical fibre brings the telephone signal and digital television in high quality. The signal is not affected in any way by the weather and all the signals go through the same cable. It means you can listen to 5 different tv stations, talk on the phone and play the latest video game without any slowdown.

The wireless technology is way faster and a lot less expensive to deploy. It is limited in its transmission capacity and it is not able to provide high speed internet to a large pool of clients, which makes it costly to provide a fast service to our clients. Although not as efficient as the optical fibre technology, it is the perfect alternative to cable. The signal is received from one of our 82 access points installed all around the RCM.

Can I register to a year plan?

A yearly plan is only available for our wireless services.

How can I consult my monthly bandwidth?

When you connect to the customer center, a lot of informations will be presented to you. To consult your remaining bandwidth, you must look at the value under the limit for combined traffic. A graphic showing your consumption by day and by month is also available.

I went through all my allowed data for the month. How is that possible?

There could be a few reasons. First, your internet habits for your family and you may have changed with time. You could also be using a wifi router that is not secure, and somebody else could be using your connection. You should always use a router secured by a password, at best with a WPA or WPA2 password. When in doubt, it would be preferable to change your existing password.

I received a warning by mail about my internet consumption. What should I do?

We will send you an alert at determined consumption levels. You will also receive an alert before you reach your bandwidth limit. If you must go over your plan, $2 by additional Gig will be applied and charged on your next invoice. You are responsible of giving us a working e-mail adress if you want to receive these alerts.

How can I switch plan?

You can contact us by phone at 450 346-0057 to choose the plan that fits your needs.

How can I configure my Outlook?

You must configure your application by adding this line as the outgoing server. Our server’s adress is the following : “smtp2.internet-haut-richelieu.com”. You may have to use a specific port, and it should be port 25.

When will the internet service be available in my area ?

Our wireless technology is already available on the RCM territory. The optical fibre is already available in some areas. You can communicate with us for more details.

Are there any alternatives if the optical fibre service is not available?

We offer the wireless internet service in a few areas where we can not install the optical fibre. Contact us by phone at 450 346-0057 and we will inform you about the availability of our service to your home.

When will the TV service be available ?

The television services by optical cable is now available on our whole network. Call us at 450 346-0057 to check if we can install our fiber services at your place.

What is the quality of the TV service?

Our television service is 4K HDR and 5.1 compatible. 4K is the latest imaging technology, and HDR gives you the best of lighting and contrast you can get.

Is my TV set compatible with your technology?

Our decoders have all the connections ready to plug in your television set. Although our decoders can be used with an older television, it is recommended to use a 1080p or 4K HDR compatible television to experience the best of our service.

Do I need a decoder for each TV set I own?

Our digital signal needs a decoder for each television you use. There is a physical limit of 5 decoders that you can connect to our services.

Does the weather affect your service?

The weather does not have an influence on the reception quality. Our signal is going through an optical fibre cable, so you can fully enjoy our services, even in bad weather.

Can I keep my existing phone number?

It is possible to keep your current phone number. There is a small fee to switch from your existing provider.

Do I have to change my phone or my phone receiver?

Our service uses the internal circuitry inside your home, so it is compatible with all of your existing quipements. During the installation, our technician will make the switch from your actual provider and will connect our service.

Is it possible to get more than one phone line?

It is possible to have more than one phone line. Contact our customer service to know more about your options.

When will the phone service be available ?

Unlimited telephony service is now available on our fibre optic network.

Will the 911 be working the same?

We offer an advanced 911 service, just like all the biggest companies in Canada. When you place a call, your phone number and your address will be sent automatically to the nearest central in your area. The attendant will ask you to confirm your location, and if you are unable to answer, first aid will be sent to the address we have in our files.

How many recordings can I do at the same time?

With our central system, you can record up to 5 different channels simultaneously, and you can continue to change channels if you are recording 4 programs of less.

Can I have more than one recorder?

Our recorders have the ability to communicate with the other set top box in your home, so you only need one for your whole house.
